Západoslovenská energetika, a.s. (hereinafter only ZSE), is a leading energy company in Slovakia. ZSE has been on the Slovak market since 1922.
ZSE Group is the largest distributor of electric power and provider of electric power and gas in Slovakia. More than ninety years in the Slovak market has allowed the ZSE Group to combine the international reputation of the E.ON Group by creating possibilities for cooperation, professional development and opportunities for our experts to work in the European energy market within E.ON Group.
Incorporating Západoslovenská energetika, a.s. into E.ON Group, with assets on two continents, was a challenge yet also created an opportunity to expand international cooperation and knowledge exchange at all levels. ZSE Group distributes electric power and sels electric power and natural gas, and all related services, to nearly a million customers in all categories.
On September 5, 2002 National Property Fund sold a 49% interest in equity of ZSE to E.ON Group (Germany). On December 16, 2003 E.ON Group transferred its 9% interest on equity to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). On July 1, 2003, based on the resolution of the General Assembly of June 27, 2003, the Company sold the following parts of the business: the divisions of construction and information technologies and the centre for transformers repair and electrometers calibration verifi cation.
Currently the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic owns 51% of shares of ZSE and E.ON Group owns 49% of shares.
ZSE together with its subsidiary referred to as the ZSE Group. ZSE Group provides services related to distribution of electricity and supply of electricity and gas primarily in the Western Slovakia region.
