ZSD started operations on 1 July 2007 as a 100% subsidiary of ZSE. ZSD operates the distribution network in Western Slovakia as a monopoly provider. It holds all required licenses and is regulated by Regulatory Office for Network Industries (RONI).
ZSD was established on 20 April 2006 with headquarters at Čulenova 6, 816 47 Bratislava. Performing provisions of Section 32(10) of new Act on Energy, the title ZSE Distribúcia, a.s. was changed to Západoslovenská distribučná, a.s. on 1 January 2013.
Non-current assets of ZSD are mainly represented by distribution network that was revalued at fair value at unbundling in 2007. Equity is mainly represented by share capital and legal reserve fund. Non-current liabilities are related mainly to borrowing from the Parent company ZSE in amount of EUR 630 million.
Main source of ZSD revenue and EBITDA is the provision of distribution services in Western Slovakia. Revenue from distribution services is regulated by RONI.
